New new digs

As it turns out, we won't be in the shoebox much longer. Today we signed a contract to purchase a townhouse in Chapel Hill (in Lake Hogan Farms, for the locals)! Although we will probably move in 2 years, GSK has a very generous relocation policy, so we are still able to buy despite the short turn-around.

Although we don't fancy ourselves as the townhouse type, this is a good match given the circumstances (one of those circumstances being that moving from Durham to Chapel Hill carries quite the price tag). This was way nicer, newer, and didn't have any projects to be done, unlike everything else we saw. If we're turning something around in 2 years, we don't want projects that need to be done. We would love to have a yeard, but at least this is in a GORGEOUS neighborhood with tons of greenspace. There are lots of paths to walk/bike/jog on, pool and tennis courts, tons of kids, nearby park, and even a lake for fishing and canoeing. And it goes to a brand new elementary school, the principal of which used to be the A.P. when I worked at Rashkis and she is fabulous.

We're supposed to close on it at the end of November. We are hoping to finish the third floor and have that work done (or at least started) before we move in. Plus we just can't move until this semester is over. So that means if you're free on December 12th, we'll need a hand. And with 4 floors to get furniture up/down, we will need several!
