Ain't no passing craze

A few weeks ago we took the kids along with Kay, Reed, and Sarah to see the Lion King. I was hesitant about bringing Rippy to a show given his age and, moreover, his need to be in constant motion. An additional challenge was the matinee happened exactly at nap time. But given his obsession, we decided to bring him and hope for the best.

Well, we certainly made the correct choice. He was pretty much enthralled the entire time. Although, who wouldn't be mesmerized by things like this?

Ainsleigh's favorite character was Rafiki.
She has a much more prominent role in the play than the movie.

Rippy's favorites were the lions. In particular, he liked Scar the best, who was the best performer on the day.

And, as obsessed as he was before the show, afterward it has only gotten more intense. We got him the cd of songs and he literally carries the cd case around with him. Sarah has been working on the words to the songs with both of them and there are rumors to be a performance in the works. Rippy is perfecting his roar. And his request for his third birthday party in a few months? A Scar party.

What is it with my kids and villains?
