Through a bit of a loophole in the ACC kids club program that we signed Ainsleigh up for so she could get into ACC tournament soccer games for free, we were able to get tickets to the ACC Tournament that was held last week in Greensboro. Austin has wanted to go for the entire time he's lived here, and after nearly two decades, he finally got his chance.
He went to four straight days of basketball and saw all 11 games. Tracy, being sensible, went to the semi-finals day that had two games. Even then I didn't pay much mind to the second game, although unfortunately it wasn't so interesting because Dook was having their way with Virginia Tech the whole time.
Carolina was not looking so great against Clemson and again had a slow start and a nerve-wracking finish. They tied it up at the end to send it to overtime...
...and went on to win 92-87. And it's a good thing, because otherwise Sarah and Leslie and I would not have been so happy post-game:
Also I must say that is a nice shade of blue.
It works out very well for us that Penn State and Carolina do not match up in sports, although occasionally we have trouble deciding on allegiances with women's soccer but they haven't played head-to-head for a while. Otherwise it is an easy decision to cheer for Penn State football and Carolina basketball. Because pretty much, Carolina football (although better of late) and Penn State basketball look like high school teams. This was further proven by the recent Penn State/Wisconsin basketball game, which PSU won with 36 points. For comparison, Harrison Barnes scored 40 points himself in the above game. Although, of course we hope PSU can knock off Temple in a few days, but let's be honest...
