B.C.

Austin and I leave very early in the morning for British Columbia. Ainsleigh and Rippy are staying here in Chapel Hill with Austin's parents. After the flight to CA with Rippy earlier this spring, I vowed to not get on an airplane with him for some indeterminate amount of time that has yet to elapse.

Here is the rough itinerary:

July 1: fly to Seattle, ferry to Victoria

July 2-3: Victoria

July 4: Further north on Vancouver Island

July 5-7: Coast Mountain loop (north of Vancouver)

July 8: Vancouver

evening of July 8: Seattle (baseball game)

July 9: Travel home

The BC tourism folks won us over with their marketing during the Olympics. We're hoping to go on a few good hikes as well as whitewater rafting and a zip-line tour. And after a very hot couple of weeks in NC, these graphs are yet another reason for heading to BC at this time of year.

After BC we're back in town for 7 days and then Tracy and the kids head north to PA and NY for the annual summer pilgrimage. It is very intentional that we're leaving NC during the summer. It's just too hot here. Still, being in town for only 7 days in July sounded brilliant when we made these plans months ago. Now, not nearly as much.
